Shell Children Poem from Shreyas

One night  the Shell Children were hungry,
They needed some sweet leaves to eat.
They decided to go to the jungle
And look for a pancake tree treat.

So , off they wandered that evening
In search of a wonderful snack.
But the earthquake bird suddenly landed,
And they heard a pancake tree crack!

Then the Shell Children got frightened
And started to run home.
They walked for a long hour ,
They heard the bird screeching, there was no time to roam.

Luckily they outran it;
They had run very fast
They reached home safely
And could relax at last.

Acrostic poem by Shreyas

An Acrostic poem is a type of poem where you spell out a word vertically and make other words describe it

Pokemon acrostic Poem :

Picking a starter Pokemon.
Occasionally finding rare Pokemon
Kinglike Pokemon appearing
Every Pokemon caught
Meeting tons of new Pokemon
Obscure Pokemon found
Never losing a battle

EDIT pokemon riddle by Shreyas

A riddle is a type of poem where the poem is describing a place, person or thing, but not necessarily saying what it is. It is up to the readers to guess what the poem is describing.

Pokemon Riddle!
I walk on 2 feet
I'm someone you'd like to meet
I have a yellow tail
In my cartoon I'm male
I shoot thunderbolts
AKA 100,000 Volts!
I'm quite well known
But I'm weak to a bone
I am considered cute
But when I lose a Pokemon battle I go : "Shoot!"
When something happens to Ash I cry
So - What am I?

Above me, below me by Shreyas

Sleeping in the hall
Above me...

Torches are flickering on and off. Hand shapes being projected to the roof using flashing torches. People dancing their unique torches.

Below me...

I lazily laid down on my cozy sleeping bag as I heard Mrs Dowden muttering the words of the exciting book.  My pillow that was almost crumpled from all my tossing and turning. The hard, dented floor bugging me as it made the bottom of my warm sleeping bag hard as a rock.

In front of me...

Was the old grey cupboards packed with mystery. The adults slowly walking past me as I snuggled up into my sleeping bag. The small tables that were used to serve the delicious breakfast.

Behind me..

Were the thousands of rows of tired campers snoring as loudly as a horde of angry boars. Miss J's humongous voice echoing through the hall as the lights flashed and went off with a click. Mrs.Poole kept turning on her bright torch, as she walked towards a noisy row.

Above me Below me poem by Derek

Above me…

Brown gnarly branches swayed gently in the calm breeze, while leaves rustled loudly. The chirps from crickets irritated me so much I’ve nearly gone deaf.

Below me…

Thick tree roots grabbed at me daring me to fall. The muddy uneven dirt helped the tree roots as I ventured into the unknown. Leaves scattered all around me , surrounding me, the sound of leaves crunching overwhelmed me, it was so intense.

In front of me…

Vinegar got sprayed at me in the face like a missile, but stinker! Thin, puny branches poked me in the chest while I was holding onto something that would lead me out of this maddens, rope. I could smell victory as I scrambled to the end quickly but carefully.

Behind me…

Freezing cold air smashed into my neck, nearly turning me into an ice cube and freezing me to death. Screams of terror echoed around me wrapping me in. Warm, wet hands touched me trying to make me scream, but it was actually pretty relaxing.

Whanaungatanga Flowers

Room 3 have been getting creative, with Mrs Daniel, on Thursday afternoons. Our beautiful flowers are inspired by symmetry in nature, our observations of patterns in the native bush walk and the concept of whanaungatanga  (the interconnection of all things).
