Mikala Rhyme poem

On Friday the 12 of August Room 3 were learning to construct a poem with a simple pattern of rhyme AA, BB. Here’s one of mine.

I found a ten dollar note
Wrapped up in a dirty brown coat
So I bought my mum
a big juicy plum

Calendar Art

A Paragraph  on Room 3 Calendar art
By Me’a and Mikala

In Room 3 each  of us were allowed to choose what we wanted to do for our Calendar Art.

We went home to discuss our ideas with our parents. Then we were given 3 days to draw and plan a draft. On Thursday we brought  everything  that we needed and were  give the first block to complete our work. When we were finished Miss J put our artwork into a folder so our parents can see if they wanted to buy it. We are proud of our work.

Mikala's Above Me, Below Me poem

Above Me, Below Me, In Front of Me and Behind Me

Above Me

I see thick bushy tree branches shielding the twinkly stars that are high up in the pitch black sky. Trees are swaying in the breeze, letting the leaves flutter down to the ground. I hear crickets high up in the night sky.

Below Me

There was a blanket of leaves covering the dark brown dirt. I feel the light brown dust break and then crumble underneath my hands. The long grass is swaying in the wind.

In Front of Me

The bark covered trees hide me away from the bright shining lights. I see all the year sixes sneakily crawling up the steep hill. There are lights blinding me.

Behind Me

Is a beautiful sparkling ocean. There are people with racing hearts as they run for their life to the tree in front of them. Is someone hiding behind me for protection from the lights?

Whanaungatanga Flowers

Room 3 have been getting creative, with Mrs Daniel, on Thursday afternoons. Our beautiful flowers are inspired by symmetry in nature, our observations of patterns in the native bush walk and the concept of whanaungatanga  (the interconnection of all things).
