Pobble 365 Poem Shark

Quick write

A little while ago we did a quick write on lots of different images and mine was on a pet shark, enjoy.

Pssst you, yeah you. Look at this picture of my pet shark. I go for swims daily. I hope it doesn't eat me tomorrow. Like what's the chance of that? Half a day later or 11 hours 21 minutes and 48 seconds to be precise. AHHHHHH help me my shark is trying to eat me.

AA BB poem by Mathew

This is a rhyming poem down with AABB, meaning the first two lines rhyme and the second two rhyme. Enjoy.

I dropped my pickle

I dropped my pickle,
On a really big prickle.
I couldn't pick it up,
So I called a grownup.

But he was in pain,
So I shouted for Jane.
But she was stuck in traffic,
By the way she's very photographic.

So I went next door,
But they were on tour.
No one was there,
Apart from a bear.

I hopped in the car
And I drove very far.
I stopped at a home,
It was actually a dome.

I knocked on the door,
Maybe they went to war.
No one came,
I guess everything's the same.

ABAB Poem By Logan

ABAB Soccer Poem

Yesterday we wrote some ABAB poems and this is my poem that rhymes every second line.

Yesterday I was playing soccer,
when my mother called my name.
Hey Logan, that shot was a shocker,
Sorry mum I won't do that in my game.

Today it's my soccer game,
I need to play today.
Last week I didn't even play I'll be in shame,
please play me this very day.

edited picture writing with mrs. daniel

On Thursday we did picture writing with Mrs. Daniel. Picture writing is where there is a random picture and you must write a story based entirely on that picture. This is the picture I got -

Here is my story :
The three fearless, ruthless dragons had just finished their 43-second nap and were now soaring gracefully into the sky like a young Charizard (a Pokemon).
However , the youngest one seemed to be going faster than the others had ever seen. That was most likely because he couldn't wait to see his grandfather for the 1st time in his entire life!

Acrostic poem by Shreyas

An Acrostic poem is a type of poem where you spell out a word vertically and make other words describe it

Pokemon acrostic Poem :

Picking a starter Pokemon.
Occasionally finding rare Pokemon
Kinglike Pokemon appearing
Every Pokemon caught
Meeting tons of new Pokemon
Obscure Pokemon found
Never losing a battle

By Shreyas!

EDIT pokemon riddle by Shreyas

A riddle is a type of poem where the poem is describing a place, person or thing, but not necessarily saying what it is. It is up to the readers to guess what the poem is describing.

Pokemon Riddle!
I walk on 2 feet
I'm someone you'd like to meet
I have a yellow tail
In my cartoon I'm male
I shoot thunderbolts
AKA 100,000 Volts!
I'm quite well known
But I'm weak to a bone
I am considered cute
But when I lose a Pokemon battle I go : "Shoot!"
When something happens to Ash I cry
So - What am I?

Pobble 365 writing by Cameron

✧✧✧Hope you enjoy my story that I have written on pobble 365 Go check out the site!✧✧✧
It all started out as a dare...
On my birthday my friends gave me a dare to sleep outside in the cold. I accepted… As I walked out of the house my friends shut and locked the door. I walked closer into the forest until I realised I wasn’t alone.
I ran and ran until I came to a part of the forest which didn’t look like the forest that I just came out of. It had twirly trees, huge stalks of grass and these weird little creatures which looked like something you would find in a video game! Then I realised I was in the world of Pokemon! It was amazing or was it…
60 years later… I had enough I wanted to go home but I didn’t know the way back to my house. All I knew was if I walked any further I would just get lost. Plus all the Pokemon had disappeared and I have been alone for 60 years!
As I took my last breath I fell to the floor and...
AHHHHHHH!
“Dude. were all trying to sleep”.
It was all a dream...

The end.

Creative writing by Mea

On Thursday with Mrs Daniel we went onto a website called Pobble 365 that showed us a picture and some pointers on how to write a quick story about that picture. The picture I am writing about is The Tree Door.

The Tree Door
The creaky, old door has not been opened for decades. The beast has always lived inside, but nobody dared to visit. Noises would echo through the gaps in the door that haunted those who heard them.

One day a little boy and girl called Joey and Willa were walking home through the forest when the heavy wooden door slowly opened. With a groan the kids watched in horror as they saw the ugly beast. As they stood there, they were blinded by him and were never heard of again…

Poem by Mea

A Little Bird
A little bird flew up to me,
He thought I was his mother,
I said “go be free,”
But then I saw his brother,
I ran to him but hurt my knee,

And then I saw another.

Pokemon Speech by Gabe

This is my speech that the senior school had to write and perform in front of their class. I hope you  enjoy :)

There is a Charizard literally a Charizard right there, you don't know how much this means to me. It's my favorite Pokemon, I need to catch it. Pokemon gotta catch em alllllll Pokemon I know it's my destiny - yeah, oh sorry am I boring you with my singing? It does get boring after a while, well sort of - it dosen't to me - I like it.

Pokemon Go is my favorite game. It's the top listed game in the app store and play store. Sooo many people have Pokemon Go, it has 50 million downloads in just the play store! Crazy isn't it. I don't know how many downloads are in the app store but it probably has sooo many downloads as well. Pokemon Go was released in most countries of the world on the 6th of July, 2016 by a group or persons called Niantic. They or that person also published it. In the game, players use their smart device's, GPS and / or camera to capture, battle and train virtual creatures, called Pokemon, who appear on the screen as if they were in the same real-world location as the player.

Players must travel around the world, to explore the game's map. You will also visit PokéStops which is a circle on your screen. If it's purple you have already got it and can't get it for a while. If it is blue you can get it. Gyms are a large tower with a Pokemon on the top. You need to battle the people inside the gym to take it over. You have to tap a lot and quite fast, so get ready to tap really fast and hurt your fingers.

Some people have injured themselves, but I don't know any information about it. But there is one thing I do know about - it's not Pokemon Go's fault they got hurt.

What is the easiest Pokemon to catch? Well it's Pidge. Pidge is based off a bird, Pidgey is brown, black, white and also pink.

What is the hardest pokemon to catch? Well it's Abra. Abra is a Pokemon that loves to teleport a lot and is yellow.

As you already know Charizard is my favorite Pokemon. It has fire on it's tail because it is a fire type Pokemon and it looks like a dragon.

I just saw a Squirtle, Squirtllle!

Fish in the sea poem by Victoria

Yesterday Miss J taught us how to write a poem that had a rhyming word in every second sentence.
Here is the poem I wrote.

Fish in the Sea

There were lots of fish in the sea
That ate lots of seaweed
They all smiled with glee
As they started to swim with speed

They swam to a cave
That was dark and gloomy
The fish were very brave
And swam right to me

Speech for blog by Ishika

In term 2 we wrote our speeches. My speech is about - Is laughing really a medicine I hope you enjoy it.

Wow I just went to a laughing club. A laughing club you say, what can you possibly do there? Of course you just learn to laugh - out loud - and it is really hard. It was really funny as well. Talking about laughing, today I am going to tell you all about why laughter really is a medicine
Paragraph 1
Well as you guys all know laughter is priceless it makes you feel nice and happy and takes out all the negative thoughts and worry's in your head. Laughter relaxes your whole body and makes you forget about everything.  For example if you laugh in the morning it would make you feel happy for the rest of the day. Even if you think about something bad the good thought would take over. Overall life is better with laughter.
Paragraph 2
First let me tell you some facts about laughter. First of all laughter reduces calories and some studies have reported that laughing for at least fifteen minutes can add around 2 days to your overall lifespan. Humans are not the only creatures who laugh animals like dogs and cats also laugh.
Paragraph 3
Well you guys might not believe me but people around the world go to laughing clubs or laughing yoga. Basically what they do at laughing club's is the instructor does funny faces or weird things like tells everyone joke's or pokes out their tongue and puts their hands by their ears. Laughing yoga was created in India in the mid 1990's as a experiment and is still around. Laughing clubs are basically the same as laughing yoga. What they do at laughing yoga is everyone is jogging or stretching and the instructor tells everyone joke's.
Paragraph 4
We should laugh because it's fun, it makes you feel good and it reduces stress. We should also laugh cause it makes us forget about our troubles and it plays an important role in social interaction and bonding. We usually laugh when we see something unusual  or ridiculous. Healthy children laugh 100 times per day where as adults tend to laugh like only 20 times per day. It is a normal thing that laughter declines dramatically as people age.

Conclusion
Have  you laughed today, I don't mean sending LOL to a friend I mean a actual  laugh when you find something funny. Over all I think you guys all know that laughter is by far the best medicine, It is a good way to lose stress and is a fun way to strengthen your immune system.

For the blog by Blake

Old man quick write

He was an ancient man, and skin and bone was all that remained. A man of mischief but proud to be so, his face with wrinkles galore, and sags that his eyes had claimed. His hair the shade of snow, the wisps flattened to his skull. But his ancient, bushy eyebrows were nothing to complain.

Poem for blog by Joyce

On Friday 12th August, we learned a simple poem pattern that went ABAB and we all tried making our own poems using that pattern.

My Cat Poem

I once had a cat,
He was always fat.
He always ate mice,
Because he thought they tasted nice.

Ice Cream Poem

I dropped my ice cream,
And then I started to scream.
I didn't bother to pick it up,
Because my sister ate it up.

Dog in the Fog Poem

There once was a dog,
Who sat in the fog.
We never knew what he looked like,
Because he was actually riding a bike.

Too tall for a small town by Andrew

Too tall for a small town

This is my picture writing which I wrote last month. The picture was of a ginormous kid hope you enjoy it.

As he walks through the town everyone is shocked and can't believe what they're seeing. He is almost 30 foot tall and the boy is also scared and doesn't know what to do. His parents don't know where he is.  Then they see him walking past their house. He tries to hide but he is too big. People have started calling the police now. The police called  the military and the boy got caught. Now he is stuck in a military base for the rest of his life.

Some pobble 365 work

This is some Pobble 365 work from earlier this year. Pobble is a website that has a different picture every day with prompts to help you write about it. The first one we did was about a spooky tower and the second about a man lost/trapped in the woods

The night was still. Not a breath of wind could be felt.
The boy was intimidated by the crow statue. In his village the crow was the sign for death, but he was far from his village now. He heard a noise and turned, nothing was there. He turned back, there was now a wicked smile on the crows face. It's now or never I thought I began to enter the mystical tower.

It was horrible having to stay in the woods. I had lost all contact with the outside world, I was scared. So far I was surviving, barely, I had stockpiled my rations, to the best of my ability. I'm weak - ROAR! Oh no here comes that bear again!

Danielle's A B A B poem

Yesterday Miss J showed us how to write an A B A B poem. This means that line 1 and 3 rhyme and lines 2 and 4 rhyme. This is the poem I wrote.

                Chocolate
I brought a bar of chocolate,
Then I got a chocolate bunny.
I found a locket,
And it was filled with lots of money.

I went to the shops to buy some chocolate,
But then I went in my friends rocket.
In the rocket I went into a dark closet,
Then I tripped over and ripped my pocket.

Starwars quick write by Liam

On Thursday 18 August 2016 I wrote this Starwars quick write. This means we only had 20 minutes to write. I hope you enjoy my story.

The Jedi thought they had to take back Naboo! They have sided with the battle droids. Kaboom! The bombs went then Obi-wan reflected a shot back at a commander. “Agh!” he shouted. After hours of fighting all the stormtroopers and battle droids were dead Obi-wan and Darth Vader fought for two more hours and then Chewbacca appeared “Grrrr!” he growled. Finally Obi-wan-kenobi killed Darth Vader and took back Naboo.

ABAB poem by Rubie

On Monday 12 September Miss J helped us learn how to write a ABAB poem. This means line 1 and line 3 rhyme and line 2 and 4 rhyme. Here is my poem.

When I was in my little house,
I saw that I had no cheese,
But just then I saw a very cute mouse,
It jumped onto my knees,

I said to it “would you like to live with me  in this lighthouse”
Just let me get my keys,
But just then it run outside to the farmhouse,
The mouse was chasing some bees.

The Selfish Mayor by Ethan

I wrote this story because this was my asttle writing test and I quite liked it. This story is about a selfish mayor who destroyed the city by not listening to a smart boy. Enjoy!

Dark clouds thundered across the blue sky towering over city “X”. The clouds sent bright red lightning down on the city. The lightning was cursed, so whatever the lightning touches, the things inside it would slowly disappear. The first person to notice that things were disappearing was Max. When he was just about to lick his delicious ice-cream with a cherry on top, it suddenly disappeared. He went to the big, fat mayor and told him that his ice-cream had disappeared. The mayor said “You ate it”
“No I didn't.”
“Yes you did.”
“No I didn't.”
This argument continued for 3 hours, but when they were arguing, residents around the city started to find their precious things started to disappear. After that the mayor gave up arguing because he realised that his comfortable chair had disappeared and he had been crouching for the last 3 hours. Soon chairs, tables, cups, pencils disappeared mysteriously with just a blink of an eye. The mayor got so heart broken because all his belonging disappeared. He cried to Max “Do something.”
“No, I won't, I can't, I don't know how.”
“Yes you will.”
They argued for another 24 hours- meanwhile houses started to disappear and humans started to disappear …- and when the mayor and Max got so tired of arguing. The mayor looked at the rubble left behind the city and cried out “What have I done.”
“You have  just destroyed the city by not listening to me.” Max replied calmly.

Colour Wheel Art

Room3 we're learning about colour wheels and primary colours. We then drew and painted a eye with Miss Hunt. This is what they looked like...

Tread Lightly

Room 3 are also doing the tread lightly program and this morning we did a list of 10 things we would take if we had to move to a anther planet. This is what we came up with...

tread lightly links

Hello everyone, a special thank you to the parents and grand parent who came to help us today, Farzana Anklesaria, Sonia Usal, Julie Spooner, Monika Nagpal and Stan White (granddad of Gabrielle Sayer).

You were all amazing and we can't do these kind of activities without you.

Below are some links that you as a family can do at home together to check your environmental footprint. I was horrified at mine - I did well in some areas and not so well in others!!

Please use these links and give it a go -

Environmental Footprint: The children did this in the caravan (as a group). You may want to do this as an individual.

Driving Day: This link is used to calculate the distance and carbon dioxide emissions from a whole week of their individual car trips and other methods of travelling.
